Can I capitalize this? Really need help on this

I have two chefs in my story and the story itself is called "The Chefs." These two characters are always together from start to finish. Can I write them in as "The Chefs" / "the Chefs" with a capital C when I mention them? Because there are other chefs sometimes in the story and when I lowercase the C when I refer to my two main characters, it becomes less precise on who I am exactly referring to as "the chefs." What do you think? Is a capital C a proper option?
