Debug d’un site WordPress

Du fait de lenteurs récurrentes observées au niveau de l’un de mes sites, j’ai décidé d’activer le mode debug de WordPress. Il m’a permis de comprendre que mes lenteurs venaient d’erreurs de plugins qui n’étaient plus mis à jour (Get Recent Comments, Similar Posts, Post-Plugin Library). Je vous recommande vivement de les abandonner et de les remplacer par Similarity et Better WordPress Recent Comments.

Activer le mode debugging sous WordPress

Éditez votre fichier wp-config.php, situé à la racine de votre site et ajoutez-y ces trois petites lignes qui feront merveille :

define('WP_DEBUG', true);
define('WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY',false); 
define('WP_DEBUG_LOG',true);

Le debugging est actif dès la sauvegarde !

L’activation  de la directive WP_DEBUG_LOG génère un fichier debug.log dans le dossier wp-content de votre site WordPress. Vous devez disposer des droits en écriture pour ce fichier !
