3 Tips for Making Money Selling EBooks | KDP Amazon

With the advent of free PDF creators it’s never been easier to publish your own  ebook . But, of course, before you get to that stage you need to actually write the  eBook  itself. Here are three tips that will get you on-track to creating your own money-spinning  eBook  in record time.

1. Find a hungry market

This is actually a bit counter intuitive at first. You’re aiming for a market that is already crowded, maybe even one like weight loss that’s overcrowded.

Why?

Because that’s where the buyers are.

Your  eBook  almost certainly won’t end up on the New York Times best seller list but that doesn’t matter.

Within these stupidly large markets are smaller niches. And a small niche in a giant market is probably bigger than the whole of a tiny market.

People are always looking for something that seems as though it was written specifically for them. OK, you’re probably not going to write an  eBook  called “Weight Loss for Plumbers with a 40 inch waist living in New Jersey” but you get the idea.

Choose a market where there is plenty of competition and then narrow things down to a smaller sector within that market where you’re one of a handful of writers.

2. Actually write your  eBook  from start to finish

This one sounds dumb but the number of writers with a half finished book gathering virtual dust on their computer beggars belief.

Just completing your  eBook  will give you an edge over most of your potential competition.

Set yourself an amount of time every day when you’ll write your new  ebook . This could be as low as 10 or 15 minutes – you can knock out several hundred words in that time – or it could be an hour or more.

Allow yourself a day off each week but don’t let that turn into several days off per week which will then move into most (or all) days off every month. Consistency is important as it’s how your  eBook  will turn from a dream into reality.

And don’t edit while you write – that will stifle your creativity. Instead, let the words flow and come back another day to do the editing part of the process.

3. Get published

Again, there are lots of ways to do this. And, again, a lot of people fall at this hurdle. The book stays on their hard drive or they email a couple of publishers and get negative feedback. Either way, nothing happens.

To be honest, self publishing is probably the best way to go.

Amazon offers an easy platform with its  Kindle   ebooks . Apples does the same kind of thing for its iPads. These are incredibly large markets and are still very cheap to break into.

Just follow all the guidelines to make sure that your  eBook  is formatted correctly for the service you’re about to use. If you’re not sure, there are plenty of people available who will check things over for you.

Then “all” you have to do is promote your  ebook . But that’s a whole other story.

When you get to this stage, you’re ahead of over 80% of your competition. Congratulations!
